Creating a Tech-Driven Maternal Care Brand to Support “Super Moms”
The Chinese maternal and infant market appears to be a red ocean, yet traditional supply has long been stuck between low-end “involution” and imported-brand premiums, leaving a large gap in solutions that truly fit a new generation of mothers. According to the 2023 China Maternal & Infant Consumption White Paper, among post-85 and post-90 moms, 32% are high-value users whose monthly childcare spend exceeds RMB 10,000, and 64% are willing to pay 30%+ premiums for innovations that “save time and reduce anxiety.” This shows the “Super Mom” is not a niche idea, but a strategic entry point to shift the maternal-and-infant market from demographic dividends to efficiency dividends.
Smart Panda is breaking through with “tech maternal care” by targeting the demand shifts of this high-potential cohort. While two-child and three-child policies focus on incremental growth, we prioritize unlocking “mom productivity” within the existing market: a super user group that holds household purchase decision power, is active in social media word-of-mouth, and whose lifetime value extends into smart home and health management scenarios. Its spillover effect is strong enough to break through the ceiling of traditional mother-and-baby categories and create a new blue ocean for “tech maternal care” in the RMB 150-billion feeding-gear market.
To address moms’ late-night pumping pain points—fumbling in the dark that leads to spills, harsh lights that disturb the family, and intensifying loneliness—we integrated a night light into the breast-pump handle. The soft-glow system embedded on the inner side of the handle uses a diffusion film to filter a 5° warm-yellow cone that precisely covers the working area, with subtle brightness tuned for nursing, cleaning, and more. With unobtrusive light and tactile comfort, a cold device becomes a companion in the small hours of caregiving. Beyond improving operational efficiency, this ‘invisible care’ design sends a sliver of starlight to moms at 3:00AM in the kitchen—technology need not be loud; gentleness has its own strength.
